between the teeth and the velvet
of your liquid tongue
before slipping out to the air

not the haunting voice
of the mermaid
not the deep roar
of the thunder
but the soft, hidden, rhythmic
thump-thumping of your heartbeat
I...
I want to be a poem
your poem, your very own
that shall never be written
for every poem, before
being captured by words
is born in the poet's heart

So, make me your poem
and never write me
so I can live in your heart forever
